School Board Operational Goals 2025-2026
- The Board will work to educate the community about the District's funding needs and advocate for public support for education.
- How: The Board will develop a communication plan using a variety of media and a variety of schedules for the different parent and community groups
- When: End of 2025-26 school year
- Why: This goal aligns with our “Connecting School and the Community” pillar
- The Board will charge the administration to review the overall compensation packages to ensure they are competitive
- How:
- Examine a variety of models for benefit packages
- Analyze cost savings (examples: office supply savings, energy savings in school buildings to reduce utility costs, food celebrations, transportation, change of high school schedules) opportunities
- When: End of 2025-26 school year
- Why: This goal aligns with our “Aligning Resources with Needs” and “Developing and Retaining Effective Leadership and Staff” pillars
- The Board will work with the administration on technology integration
- How:
- Implementation of a new cell phone policy
- Support staff development by investing in professional development programs to empower educators with the skills to effectively integrate technology into their teaching practices
- Ethical use of technology by addressing ethical considerations related to technology, such as data privacy, algorithmic bias, and the responsible use of AI
- When:
- Start of Second Semester of 2025-26 school year
- Start of Second Semester of 2025-26 school year
- End of 2025-26 school year
- Why:
- This goal aligns with our “Fostering Student Engagement and Learning” pillar through minimizing distractions; increasing efficiency; promoting face-to-face interactions; promoting responsible digital citizenship, including online safety and cybersecurity; and ensuring student safety and providing equitable access
