Board Goals

School Board Operational Goals 2025-2026

  1. The Board will work to educate the community about the District's funding needs and advocate for public support for education. 
    1. How: The Board will develop a communication plan using a variety of media and a variety of schedules for the different parent and community groups 
    2. When: End of 2025-26 school year
    3. Why: This goal aligns with our “Connecting School and the Community” pillar
 
  1. The Board will charge the administration to review the overall compensation packages to ensure they are competitive
    1. How: 
      1. Examine a variety of models for benefit packages
      2. Analyze cost savings (examples: office supply savings, energy savings in school buildings to reduce utility costs, food celebrations, transportation, change of high school schedules) opportunities
    2. When: End of 2025-26 school year
    3. Why: This goal aligns with our “Aligning Resources with Needs” and “Developing and Retaining Effective Leadership and Staff” pillars
 
  1. The Board will work with the administration on technology integration
    1. How: 
      1. Implementation of a new cell phone policy
      2. Support staff development by investing in professional development programs to empower educators with the skills to effectively integrate technology into their teaching practices
      3. Ethical use of technology by addressing ethical considerations related to technology, such as data privacy, algorithmic bias, and the responsible use of AI
    2. When:
      1. Start of Second Semester of 2025-26 school year
      2. Start of Second Semester of 2025-26 school year
      3. End of 2025-26 school year
    3. Why:  
      1. This goal aligns with our “Fostering Student Engagement and Learning” pillar through minimizing distractions; increasing efficiency; promoting face-to-face interactions; promoting responsible digital citizenship, including online safety and cybersecurity; and ensuring student safety and providing equitable access
      2. This goal aligns with our “Developing and Retaining Effective Leadership and Staff”  pillar through investing in professional development programs to empower educators with the skills to effectively integrate technology into their teaching practices
