Groundbreaking Celebration
On Friday, October 17, our students, staff, Collaborative Advisory Team members, and special guests came together at Lake Mills Elementary School to celebrate the groundbreaking of our new Early Learning Center, made possible by the support of our Lake Mills community in the November 2024 Referendum!
The ceremony began in the gymnasium with special remarks from Mrs. Wendy Sallam, Principal; Dr. Tonya Olson, District Administrator; Ms. Amy Litscher, President of the Board of Education; and Mr. Jon Winch, Project Manager at Findorff.
The new addition will include four classrooms, each with individual bathrooms, cubbies, shared group spaces, and direct access to the kindergarten playground—all designed to support our early childhood and 4-year-old kindergarten students. The addition will be connected to the current elementary school and is expected to be completed by the start of the 2026–2027 school year.
Throughout the year, students and staff will have a front-row seat to see the building come to life—from the first shovel of dirt to the final touches!
Thanks to favorable interest rates, these exciting improvements come at no additional tax impact to our Lake Mills Community.
