Answers to Frequently Asked Questions


  • Once you have reached Level 5, you no longer need to collect points.
  • Level 4 teachers do not need to bank points for Level 5.
  • Teachers in Levels 1-4 need to accumulate a minimum of 40 points to advance to the next level after five years in each level.
  • Points are available for learning opportunities that occur outside of the contracted day.
  • Points cannot be given if the District pays for the registration cost of the learning opportunity.
  • Pre-approval must be submitted 30 days prior to the learning opportunity.
  • After the learning event is complete, resubmit the pre-approval form along with participant certificate or letter of participation signed by an accountable agent of the institution, workshop, or conference sponsor.
  • Documentation must be submitted by Aug. 15 in order to be eligible for salary level adjustment. Documentation received after Aug. 15 will be applied to the following school year salary adjustment cycle.
  • 1 university credit = 15 points
  • Use the application form for pre-approval of points. This will eliminate the need for printing and scanning. A Google folder will be created for and shared with staff members to be able to access their documentation over time.
