October 26, 2020 | The district has been committed to offering in-person instruction during this pandemic.  Throughout this time, we have maintained that stance knowing the benefits.  Regrettably, with the notification of another positive student case today, we will be shifting the entire district to virtual instruction for a two-week period.   As of this last notification, we will have approximately 100 students in quarantine and over 30 staff in quarantine or out sick.  We are unable to fill this number of vacancies with substitute teachers.  Additionally, we are seeing the spread of COVID-19 in the community and have been responding to positive cases since late Wednesday. We will reevaluate our situation on November 9th with the intent to return to in-person instruction on Tuesday, November 10th.  This two-week shift to virtual instruction will hopefully allow all quarantines to end so that we can return to school with a full staff and student body.  This will also allow students and staff to separate, thus preventing some of the spread of COVID that we have been experiencing. The schedule is as follows:
10/27 No School-Device Pick-up (more information to follow) 10/28 Virtual Learning (Tentative--more information to follow) 10/29 No School -Teacher Inservice (Scheduled) 10/30 No School (Scheduled) 11/2-11/9 Virtual Learning 11/10 Return to In-person Learning After School Activities: High school Football, Soccer, and Cross-Country practices/competitions will continue during this time and are unrelated to the staffing issue.  All other after-school activities are canceled until November 10. The building principals will be sending additional correspondence regarding virtual learning and device pick-up information.  Again, we have tried to maintain in-person instruction and would not make this shift if there were any alternatives.  We hope to see everyone back healthy on November 10.
