My name is Susan Haviland. I was born and raised in Waukesha. I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Stout with a Bachelor of Science degree in Family and Consumer Science (at the time it was called Home Economics) with a major in education. I have a minor in English and concentrations in Clothing and Textiles and Middle School Education. 

My first teaching experience was at Kromrey Middle School in Middleton. From there, I moved to Lake Mills and taught for many years at Lakeside Lutheran High School. After subbing in the Lake Mills School District for an extended period of time, I began teaching full time in 2006. I currently teach all the FACS classes at the high school and middle school. Those classes include Nutrition for Chefs, Relationships and Parenting, Foods, Baking and Pastry Arts, Working With Children, and Introduction to Health Careers at the high school. At the middle school, I teach 6th, 7th, and 8th grade FACS.

I live in Lake Mills with my husband Bob. Our only child is a wimpy, whinny, wiener dog named Ilse who is ten years old. In my free time, I enjoy reading, sewing, quilting, and reading cook books.  During the summer, I love spending time in our pontoon boat on Rock Lake.
